Ride in the shadow of Everest
The Ride to the Everest Base Camp is a journey we take together — as riders, explorers, and a small team moving through the Himalayas side by side. The route begins in Kathmandu, where we spend time preparing, getting to know each other, setting up the bikes, and easing into the rhythm of the road before heading north.
From Kathmandu, we ride through changing landscapes into the mountains, crossing into Tibet via the Gyirong border. The days are spent riding across wide valleys, high passes, and open plateaus, with regular stops to rest, acclimatize, and take in the scale of the surroundings. Along the way, we pass through towns like Gyantse and Shigatse, sharing meals, stories, and experiences that slowly turn the group into a riding family.
In Lhasa, we slow the pace. This is time to acclimatize properly, walk through ancient streets, visit monasteries, and absorb the culture before continuing toward higher altitudes. As we move closer to Everest, the terrain becomes more remote, the air thinner, and the mountains more dominant.
Reaching Everest Base Camp (North Face, 5,200 m) is a shared moment — one that comes after days on the road, changing weather, and collective effort. We spend time here together, taking in the presence of the world’s highest mountain before beginning the return journey through the Gyirong corridor and back to Kathmandu.
This ride is not just about reaching a destination. It’s about moving as a group, supporting one another through long riding days, altitude, and unfamiliar terrain — and finishing the journey as a team.
